This is it!

Lately I seldom feel fresh when I wake up in the morning. I know this is because the new spring bed that I got cheaply from a garage sale. I regret having bought there.

The bed looks comfortable; I have no idea why. However, after checking the bed many times I finally spot the springs. And this is it! The springs inside the bed don’t work well with the bed size and style. The material of the spring is apparently inadequate for the use of a bed. The shape of the spring is also inappropriate for its function. I guess if the custom spring design is applied in this bed, things will go quite differently. I am sure a lot of people must have been experiencing which spring bed is convenient and which is not. I know quite a lot of these springs because the company I work for has a good affiliation with a spring company. I once got a catalog and I understood pretty well.

When I was still in college my Dad bought a qualified spring bed. How could I know that the bed was good? The spring is definitely the key of the answer. Special kind of spring applied correctly and firmly is gained from a certain spring manufacturer; not just a manufacture of all kind of metal application. The quality of product is indeed far different. Consulting to a catalog I got last time, I learnt that some kinds of compression springs, extension springs or torsion springs are apparently best fit to the function of spring beds.

Spring bed factories are supposed to consider on making a good business relationship with this kind of short run spring manufacturer; the service is absolutely good and the quality of products will support the selling target of the bed company. It is surely no doubt at all.

Could I be a Foreign Exchange Student? (1 of 2)

Have you ever wondered why there are so many foreign students at your school, college or university? Have you considered the possibility of you studying abroad as part of you studies?

Many full time overseas students are studying for a full degree at your college and stay for the 3 or 4 years it takes to complete the course.

There are however, thousands of foreign students studying on a short term basis, usually for the second or third year of their course. These are exchange students and as these exchange programs are generally reciprocal you may be able, as part of your study program, to study at an overseas university for a year.

Each year there are also thousands of school children who also attend school in another country for periods up to a year. Again it is not because their families have moved during the summer but it's because they are foreign exchange students and their experience abroad is as much a part of their education as their regular classroom studies.

Foreign exchange students can be found in many different countries all over the world. They generally have an avid interest in the culture of the area they have traveled to and usually have to have at least a basic grasp of the language.

By living abroad they gain an insider’s knowledge that they could never aquire from a text book back in their homeland thousands of miles away. In addition they learn the language, often becoming fluent during their time abroad

Foreign exchange students embark on an adventure that includes living in the home of virtual strangers for months at a time. The program involves recruiting host families who provide a place to stay as well as the essentials for the foreign exchange students.

Host families are carefully screened and chosen based on certain criteria. When a host family applies to the program they are asked if they have a preference regarding the gender of the foreign exchange students or the age. The majority of foreign exchange students are in the mid to late teens.

Once the host family is chosen they are given more information on the student that will be living with them. This helps them prepare for their arrival.

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 11. Managing of Learning

education learning

A teacher is the manager in the classroom, but she is not simply a manager of learning. Teaching connotes activities too typically requiring a lecture hall and a large number of desks. The emphasis is on learning, not on what the instructor teaches. On the contrary, managers of learning are slightly different from "teachers" or "instructors." They know that people learn as individuals, not as a class or group. They know each individual is important; therefore, each individual leader must learn or all will receive an inferior program.
The Manager of Learning (MOL) competency is more complex than most leadership competencies. Comprehensively, Manager of Learning (MOL) describes a system for exposing learners to the need to know and involving them in their own learning. Again, the focus is always on the participants' learning, not the teacher's teaching.

Manager of Learning has four steps: Guided Discovery, Teach/learn, Application and Evaluation. Let us take a glance look at each.

Guided Discovery: The learner is confronted with a pre-planned leadership situation (or guided discovery) which makes a demand on him so that he can internalize the need for new principles, concepts, skills and techniques and/or improvement of those existing.

Teach/learn: Having internalized the need for learning because of the attempted action, the leader-in-training enters into a learning period. This period is designed to teach the skills, techniques and knowledge needed to cope with the first situation and with similar situations.

Application: Having received instruction and having had proper practice, the leader-in-training engages again in an actual leadership performance, during which he will have a chance to compare his performance exhibited before and after the instruction and evaluate his own development. The application is a practical test and performance of the new principles, concepts, skills or techniques. Situations for application are devised that simulate or parallel as closely as possible situations the learner may encounter in the home environment.

Evaluation: Key to continued learning in the program is an opportunity to apply the new knowledge. The learner makes an individual contract with the coach-counselor describing one or more ways he will apply what he has learned. The learner is asked to evaluate the application and share his learning with the counselor.

Smile for Jecko and Charlie

Jecko and Charlie

A nice music from a jukebox somewhere near me comes to my ear and unconsciously I follow the lyrics, ‘… you find that life is still worthwhile, if you just smile…’
No matter how desperate and painful our feeling is, just smile and things will be better. That is all I could catch from the song.
The singer is no one but the late king of pop Michael Jackson. The song was apparently purposed to us to remember how he had struggled to survive from his childhood that he could never enjoy until the time he must leave us for good. The song is also to remind us about the first and the oldest famous comedian Charlie Chaplin on his struggle to make silent motion get attention from people in the beginning of 19’s. With his funny actions and sometimes hurt himself to make people laugh were the things Charlie did. As common people, he was sometimes in sorrow but still have to make other people laugh. He was an entertainer as well as film maker and he was paid for it.
The song with simple title ‘Smile’ was originally one of Charlie Chaplin soundtracks. The song was once sung by Nat King Cole. No one knows for sure who originally wrote the song and the lyrics. Apparently, the song was exactly a reflection of what and who Charlie Chaplin was. Through his films, Charlie tried to tell all people to smile. And through his dongs, Michael also did the same thing. In the end, they were both the best in each job and the greatest entertainers throughout the centuries.

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 10. Sharing Leadership

Sharing LeadershipSharing Leadership translates on one level into "styles" of leadership. Specific ways for the leader to work with the group will be more appropriate than others, depending on the job and the group. It also identifies some of the generic roles groups have that can be distributed among all members.

Sharing leadership is a key function of a leader. The ability to extend ourselves, to accomplish jobs greater than one person alone can handle, is one of the key elements of our society's success today. Never has a society been so productive as such.

In this case, we as leaders are supposed to be capable of:
- developing a concept of leadership for a group which allows different functions of leadership being shared or distributed among group members in accordance with the situation and member's strengths.
- gaining knowledge of the forces acting on the leader and the group, and inherent in the situation which makes for appropriateness of leadership styles.
- distinguishing between situations in which certain styles of leadership are apparently more appropriate.
- relating styles of leadership to the twin factors of getting the job done and maintaining group integrity and morale.
- developing attitudes of using appropriate styles of leadership to fit needs of the group to meet situations and accomplish short-and long-range goals.

Wonderful Wonderer

There seems nothing can restrict him. This wonderful wonderer will beat any rivals around, on the city streets or in the country roads. Wild and winding roads, as well as mountainous and swamp area don’t scare him. Just speed up, jump here and there, then here he goes.

Common people call him Willis Jeep. It is apparently similar to the name. However, this is an American survival car with 8 valves and strong steel body frame. The correct name is actually Wrengler; however, different country where this kind of car available will name him variously. But for the international name, just call him a jeep.

wonderful wrenglerProduction of this kind of car was abundantly in the 80’s. The purpose of the production of this car is apparently to beat Japanese and European cars, especially in the same kind of jeeps. From his original manufacturer, this car is already powered up with around 8cc and strengthened in machines and frames. This is to cope with random roads to pace and climbing up and down way this car must face. During 90’s this car was programmed for the use of US army as mobilization war utilities but it was not undergone. He was then much more likely as one model of public cars. With flip over hood, this car really looks gentle. The big size and four-season tires with one spare on the back support much on dry and hilly surface.

One thing that needs to remember is that you must provide a lot of gasoline and extra spare in big tins. He deliberately consumes gasoline a lot with comparison rate is 1 : 7. Gee, you must really much money when you have this kind of car.

Somewhat Elegant yet Beautiful

They are always there on the streets, roads, alleys and parking lots. I sometimes ponder of having one for my own. Unfortunately, my luck is not that good; or, perhaps some other time in the future. I remain hope.

Having a car is always everybody’s wish, especially in this big city. Not few of my colleagues in the office own car. Some of them even have more than one in their garages. Since I still could not afford any, I just enjoy looking at them either on the streets, showrooms, magazines, or internet.

Recent models are really fantastic; they are designed to be something which is full of pride and prestige. Seeing some Volvo c70 pics on internet, I can’t stop admiring the futuristic character expressed from the car. Somewhat elegant yet beautiful comes up from the performance. It is indeed related to the interior designs and facilities which are semi-modern. Manual or automatic transmission is not problem for me.

Lexus RX 450h
In my thought, since I saw some Honda crosstour photos shown by my friends in the office, Honda products are always winning the world market of vehicles, especially cars. The features of crosstour, especially the interior parts, are so sophisticated that anyone driving it will feel the comfort of a swing. With its wonderful and powerful mechanical engine, crosstour has nothing to doubt to deal with city or country streets.

Paying attention to some Lexus RX 450h pics, people will never think that is just a car. The model is perfectively designed for them who wish to gain attention and to show high prestige. It is apparently kinds of car for wealth people, like my boss. However, understanding the prices of all kinds of car I mentioned, I found that they come up with almost the same prices. Each product is not likely to expose high price; each has special features, winning points as well as weaknesses.

Accreditation of a School

Accreditation, in general terms, is the vehicle by which a school is officially introduced and recognized as a provider of a satisfactory education on which public institutions (i.e. employers) can count. It is a voluntary process that requires the school to meet minimum requirements that are established by various regional accrediting agencies.

School AccreditationIn common, the lack of one official accrediting agency creates a chance for sub par online schools that are trying to obtain students through any possible means. In another word, just about any organization can utter that they are an accrediting agency, so potential online school enrollers should do their research before signing up for classes at a particular online school.

Unfortunately, a number of online schools create false accrediting agencies in order to make candidates think that they are trustworthy and established. So to avoid this conflict, be sure to check whether or not an online school is accredited by one of the six major regional accrediting agencies. If your online school is accredited, your degree will be seen as legitimate by most employers. However, if your online school is not accredited but by a false accrediting agency, your degree may not be acceptable to most employers.

Into the Trading Zone

I am only an accounting staff in this factory so I really have idea what we will do when this factory starts to go into the trading zone. One thing I know that the owner of this factory will manage another type of business license and will apparently go on a good cooperation with some traders and investors. Does this mean that I will have more than one boss? I am puzzling myself. My Accounting Manager chooses me to stay with her in this meeting.

Trading Zone
Slowly I learn that in processing the new type of business, this factory will be guided by a trading company and I will be receiving forex signals through phone calls or internet. I am honestly still trying to find out what forex in this case means, but I don’t feel to ask about it to my manager or even to interrupt the meeting. What I apparently could do is to jot it down on a piece of paper.
Furthermore, my manager tells me also to be alert on the other ETF Trading signals. This time I encourage myself to ask raise a question; what is that ETF? Whispering slowly, she tells me that ETF stands for Exchange-Traded Fund and it is an investment means of trading on stock exchanges, much more like stocks. I see. I got it now and I start to understand why a position like this accounting people is needed here.

Another unusual term comes into the meeting table; futures trading signals. What are they? Unfortunately, this time she does not give me any comments. I just try to find out any related point of view of this system. Apparently, Futures trading is quite similar to Future Contract with tendency in finance rather than in purchasing or selling. The contract is then traded on a future exchange. It is more likely a type of derived stock systems. Well, that is all I could catch from what these big people are talking about. They seem to like talking and discussing things here and there, whilst I am looking at my wristwatch – it’s noon, where is the lunch box?

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 9. Evaluation

In this 9th point of view, we are supposed to be able to at least understand essential steps of evaluation, understand reasons evaluation is important, describe characteristics of effective evaluation and have idea of ways to evaluate alternatives. Alright? Let’s get started then.

In sight, evaluation is the constant companion between us the leaders and our members. We constantly strive to improve ourselves; hence we continually make an evaluation on how far we have done and we are doing. Apparently, it is commonly called "Evaluation Attitude." This attitude is somewhat basic principles of all leaders in a leadership program or training.

Evaluation is a continual process, either informal or formal, of judging a situation against a standard. Evaluation is, in essence, two things – an attitude of continuous striving for higher achievements and a process for judging an individual's or group's accomplishment of a task against previously identified standards.

  • Our desire and target are to improve our evaluation skills so that we could evaluate in the same manner an eagle soars on the winds; constantly testing, consciously and unconsciously, wind current, flow, time, our altitude, direction, strength, position relative to our goal, and some others more elements that affect our reaching and surpassing the next mountain peak.

    Always ask yourselves with possible answers for evaluation progress;
  • - You : "When do I evaluate myself?"
    - answer "Always."
  • - You : "what do I look for when I evaluate?"
    - answer "The strong and the weak points, possible improvements, and things to keep."
  • - You : "How do I evaluate myself?"
    - answer "Evaluate how well you keep the whole you together and how well you get the job done."

Is Grammar Important?

Did you remember sitting through those terrifying grammar classes during school years? I am sure you did. I recall when my teacher asked me to memorize the function of noun, pronoun, verb, adverb and adjective. And I also remember studying how to differentiate the subject and the predicate in a sentence. Of course at that time I really have no idea how the concepts of grammar made it off the pages and from the teachers' mouths into my brain, but they surely did. Truly speaking, I seldom intentionally paid attention during grammar class. I guess the grammar I needed to learn somehow came to be through osmosis.
Let’s think about what our society would be like without the existence of grammar. Basically, grammar is another way that allows us to communicate at the same kind of English. Sure, you and I both know what a dog or a tomato are, but what if you thought that each sentence that ended with a period was really a question. Wouldn't that be confusing? Or what if I write something uses sentences like this: "Told him to her loving a mother being a." Does that make sense to you? Of course not, because those words are not written in proper English grammar. If we're lucky or probably have a good imagination then we will determine that the sentence will come up to be as such: a girl is telling a boy something about loving to be a mom. But without grammar, understanding even the most common English words isn't that easy.

Do you enjoy surfing the internet for recent facts and news? Perhaps relaxing in front of a movie program on TV with a cup of tea? Or at least you love to sit down and read a good book? If you enjoy any of those things, then you should appreciate grammar. It is proper grammar that allows you to make sense of the internet, to understand the script of a film or even to read a book.

If you still are unsure about the importance of grammar as described above, try to have a conversation using mixed up sentences like the one I wrote above. It will be pretty hard to make it through a day when no one understands your thoughts or questions.

Fortunately, ever since we have grammar, we never need to worry about miscommunication with people because of the way of word arrangement. So be open to the grammar because it will surely make your life much easier.

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 8. Planning

Along with Evaluation and Management of Leadership Learning, this 8th competency is one of the most critical and complex in leadership development. Skilled use of this competency positively influences the leader's ability to get the job done and keep the group together in all kinds of situations.

The basic idea of this planning competency has not changed in over 30 years. However, additional information has been added, layers of complexity have also been introduced, but the basic scheme remains: Analyze, Generate Alternative, Implement, and Evaluate. There is no need to describe each points; the understanding is laying on the way we are as leaders to see through.

Consider the Task
What is the task? Legitimize it. What's the real problem? How does it feel? What's the best/worst/most probable result likely if we could solve this problem? Who has authority?
Let’s state them as a point of view; then set a plan based on those questions. Ready?

1. Analysis
* Why does it become a problem? (Basic question).
* Break it down into component parts.
* Force Field analysis (forces for sustaining the problem/forces against/restraining the problem).
* Generalize/exemplify.
* Ask the Expert.

2. Generate Alternatives
* Win/Win (consensus)
* Both/And
* Build up/synthesize
* Straw voting
* Negative voting
* Focus on Agreements
* Back off

3. Implementation
* Concurrent evaluation.
* Sharing leadership.
* Keeping group together.
* Getting the job done.

4. Evaluation Feedback.
* Strengths/Weaknesses.
* Improvements.
* Feed-forward.

Problem-solving on undergoing the plan includes:

* Using specified skills to identify the nature of a given situation or task.
* Alternative methods for determining the appropriate solution
* Applying guidelines for analyzing a task or problem in order to solve it.

A Method in Study for A Test

There are various methods we can apply when studying. For instance, when studying for facing a test, we can do some different things such as reading through our textbook, answering textbook questions, reviewing previous tests, reading through course notes, redoing past assignments, researching online, talking with others, and more. We also can apply memory-improving techniques like association, visualization, and mnemonics. Try a combination of different studying methods and track your results.
A method that seems to work well for most people is studying in small pieces or parts instead of large chunks of time. Studying in large chunks of time increases the chance that we will overwhelm our brain with information and start forgetting things. If we study in small pieces of time, we aren't absorbing all of this information at once and get chances to rest. Much further, we should rehearse what we have studied and done it in expanding time intervals. For example, when we study ten digits of PI, we could attempt to rehearse the ten digits in one minute, then two minutes, then four minutes, and so on.

In addition, state of being is important for studying. It has been proven that if we study while being intoxicated, we will then do better if we take the test while intoxicated. If we study while sober, we will do better if we take the test while sober. The sober case shows better results than the intoxicated case. Thus it's better to stay away from the drinks while studying and while taking the test. And finally, make sure we eat healthy and get a good night's sleep before the test.

Alternative Contractors Payroll

My overseas client has already insisted that I finish the project of building a supermarket here in this town as soon as possible. I am afraid I can't do that because I have not done any payroll to my contractors which has gotten me into trouble with managing my employees. I direct them for this project, buy materials for them, and I manage the people. At this moment, I am really short of cash. This has caused those contractors and workers to get lazy at work and some even have undergone a strike towards me. I feel like I can''t even continue this project. The contractors payroll was supposed to be done three weeks ago. This all happens because the budget I have is not enough for getting the full materials and payrolls.

contractors payrollSomeone told me about a company called Crystal Umbrella. I then decide to get assistance from Umbrella Companys that could help me in paying those contractors and workmen their salary and wages. I know this company because once I requested them for the same thing when I had no money at all. The way they work is so transparent as if I am involved myself in the management. This company will take care of a company''s budgeting in any way such as: payrolls, purchasing materials, etc. They don't lend us money, they work for us by using the amount of money that has been agreed legally by the borrower and the lender.

The way the umbrella payroll procedure works is kind of standard. They will check all original data from our accounting report, and they will come to us as the director of our own company to read the report and the possible amount they can afford. Once we agree with the amount lent, and also with their terms and conditions, then they will handle the payment to our account. That just depends on how we agree about the way they work. It is all a very simple process of applying for them to work for anyone. I will always put my trust in Crystal Umbrella for all of my company''s needs.

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 7. Representing the Group

About Representing the Group

Representing the Group is accurately communicating to non-group members the sum of group members' feelings, ideas, etc., and vice versa. We are as the leader must represent our team on a great variety of issues. Some of these issues and the need for a decision representing group interests will be known in advance; others will not be.

However, under any circumstances, to faithfully represent the group, we must:

- Completely understand the nature of the problem.
- Know how the decision (if any) was reached and be capable of communicating it to others.
- Accurately and responsibly communicate from and back to the original group.
- Realize that other groups may derive their entire picture of another group through us, the representative.
- We must be consistent, possess integrity, and be fair to all parties.

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 6. Setting the Example

About Setting the Example

‘Setting the Example’ is our personal behavior independent of external influences. While a very simple proficiency on the face of it, nothing is more important. Failing to perform this competency to members of our group, we are to doom to negative results. No matter how perfect a line we are talking, if we don't match it with our behavior, we will happen no respect and find it eventually difficult to get the group to cooperate with us.
As the leader, we set the example by doing what we expect others to do:
Ø To do things of our own well.
Ø To follow instructions with little or no supervision.
Ø To try our hardest and best.
Ø To behave maturely.
Ø To show a positive attitude.

Under some circumstances it may indeed be more difficult to set a positive example; however, that doesn't stop us. Setting the Example is where our backbone shows. If we have particular character, if our character has certain integrity--that is, if who we are on the outside is lined up with who we are on the inside – we will accomplish far more than you might imagine possible. For this kind of leader, as long as we take care of our follower's needs, enjoy their respect, loyalty, and even love.

Study before A Test

By the time we are in the peak of school year, it feels like there are so many things happening like assignments, projects, and extracurricular activities which all sometimes drive us crazy. Now a test is up in the edge and we’ve got to deal with it. How should we study so we could do better on that test?

Above of all, when we are to study for a test, we shouldn't be learning new things. It will be easier and faster to recall something we have already learned than to study something completely new. It is always recommended to review everything you have learned after each day of classes. It surely doesn't need to review thoroughly; just a simple jog through the day's topics.
Then, where we study is also important. Get a place that is readily available with minimal disturbances. Of course, there is no place like home, though for some of us, home can be too annoying as it is easy to get sidetracked. What could best help is when we find a place to study that is apparently similar to the place where we are going to take the test. For instance, if we're going to do a test in a lecture room, it might help to study in a lecture room.
Some of us usually study well in a group because we can get help and assistance from others in areas in which we are lack of. We may also gain valuable insight from others on what we have overlooked and which critical areas to highlight for the test. On the contrary, some also study quite well alone. We know what we must study. We're the one who knows ourselves best, so determine what works best for us.

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 5. Counseling

counseling
About Counseling

Counseling is a private talk to somebody else that helps the other person of a personal problem.
As a leader, we will find people come to us with their problems. And because we are their leader, we will then be forced to spot our people with problems. We can't turn them away, close our eyes and ears or just let them suffer. Because when the ignored problem is serious, it will almost inevitably become a group problem. And when problem then grows bigger and widespread to all of our people, it is apparently the time we must abdicate ourselves from our position as their leader.
Counseling is considered a difficult thing to do. Experience tells that most professional counselors like clergymen, vocational counselors, psychiatrists and others, sometimes spend years on learning how to counsel in their fields. It also takes more time to counsel with friends or people just for practice. That is no wonder why people often pay large amounts of money to be counseled.
And as a leader, we are insisted to be capable of giving counseling without learning in a very short time and without payment! Do you think you could do that?

Teaching Kids about Kindness

Understanding others is a key to good friendship, and helping others is the best of all. It is also an essential social skill that will help children in all types of relationships. Even at a very early age, children could tell and find out when others are in sorrow, distress, but they still must learn how to help others. We, as parents as well as adults can help children learn these skills.

Teaching Kids about KindnessDifferent Kinds of Helping
Children can help others in various kinds of situations. The most common kinds of help are those that take place every day. Children can be taught to give praise when others do well at what they are doing and thank them when they help. They can also encourage others and take an interest in what other children are doing. All of these kinds of help take place as parts of daily life. For instance, when another child is sad or lonely, helpful children would try to comfort the sad one by thinking of something to do or talking about times when they too were unhappy. Children can help others in many ways, and learning how to help will make them feel and build stronger ties friendship.

Learning to Put Yourself in Others’ Shoes
It is very crucial for children to learn and to understand how to put themselves “in someone else’s shoes” if they are to learn to help others. During the school-age years, children could start to see things from another person’s point-of-view. They start to understand that others may not view things the way they do, and they can think how they would feel if they were in someone else’s situation - in that person’s shoes. Knowing how others are thinking and feeling helps children understand how others may probably need help. For example, when a child sees another child get hurt, he or she can think how it would hurt and understand the need for help.

Teaching Helping
Children also will learn how to help by doing what they see as adults do. When we as an adult help someone else, we could make a point of showing the child how it works when someone is helpful. For example, a little brother or sister might fall off his or her bike and start crying. As we help, talk about how we understand that the child is hurt. Explain our own feelings of distress at seeing someone else get hurt. And as we comfort the crying child, talk about the good feelings we have when we can make others feel better. By sharing our feelings and thoughts, our children can both see and hear about our kindness, and they will have a better idea about how to help. We may want our children to pay special attention to everyday situations where other children are crying, frustrated, or lonely. These are important times to help.

My Kid’s Rugs

This used to be done by my parents to me. The way they educated me about cleanliness is always in my mind and I will surely never forget about that. Even more, I will pass this heritage to my 2 years old son. It is too bad that my son likes making the whole place in mess and dirty while I will be too busy cleaning up and returning things to their places without educating him. It is my obligation to teach him a lesson from the very beginning.

kid rugsIt seems that my son could understand what things are taught to him, especially before going to bed. He always asks me to brush his some new teeth and wash his feet and shake them on the rugs provided on the bathroom door and his bedroom floors. He always likes to rub his little feet on his Disney character rug. He could watch the image on the rug for minutes that would make him forget what he is going to do.
Yes, I use some rugs with cartoon characters to teach him about cleanliness, hygiene and health. I am so glad that he always enjoys making his feet as clean as possible by rubbing them on the rugs. And, I don’t have to spend much expense for it. I actually got those cheap rugs for him from a sale of the month at a rug store near my husband’s office. He himself bought them for our son besides buying some other rugs along for our living room and living room.

The area rug in our living room has been torn on some parts and the color is fading already; of course it is not a good thing to see for any guests who come to visit us and sit on the sofa or chairs in the living room. I actually don’t want the rug in the living room to be removed and replaced with a new one; it was a gift from a good friend of mine during college year after she had returned from her teaching duty in an Asian country. She brought some area rugs just for souvenirs for me and some best friends of ours.Wow! It was a big and the best souvenir I have ever received in my life. I certainly had no hesitation to put it in the best place in our house. Now she is married just the way I do and has two little kids. I have not met her for almost a year but I am sure she will be just fine with her kids. I also know that she will teach her kids well, much better than I do because she is a good teacher as far as I concern.

Eleven Skills of Leadership: 4. Controlling the Group

A group emerges for a certain purpose. Controlling is the throttle on the group’s engines—the energy that gives it direction. As a leader exerts control, he balances what the group is working towards (its purpose or task) and keeping the group happy and satisfied.

Controlling Group Performance is a close companion of the competency. Coordinating individual efforts for collective purpose is externally and internally controlled—by the leader and each individual.
