However there are a lot of things that you can only get from home study - such as more flexibility and less direction. You can through yourself into learning about whatever interesting thing/area you want to. At school I was much more restricted. I would have liked the teachers to have said, "in this broad area (eg. Ancient Rome) pick something that interests you and study it in depth". It is true that there are a lot of benefits from school study.
